Hello, this is my first post on this board and I come seeking help. haha! I just came into a 97 V6 contour with what appears to be Cat Converter probs. The car has 89k on it and is in pretty good condition. I understand there are several Cats on this car and dont want to replace all if I dont have to. Where should I start, at the main cat or the ones on the manifolds. I guess they aer call precats?

Thanks Mike

Yeah its the pre cats that go bad. You can gut them and install MIL eliminators, but it is against federal law, but then again how would they find out. Anyways do a search on it, you will get lots of posts about it, and I believe there is a How To around here somewhere to.
