Does anyone have any experiance with these speakers? If so how do they sound? Are they any good at all? I would be using them for the front. They would receive 50 watts to each channel. I'm looking for SQ. If any one has any sugestions or other options I'm all ears. Thanks. smile

Are you looking for a simple drop in? If so, I think it would be hard to beat the deal on Crystal 5x7s. Gator SVT bought 2 pairs and seems to be very pleased. At 69.00 a pair, they would be hard to match for the price.

Never heard the Audiobahns, but cthomp21 seems to be impressed with the audiobahn products that he has used.

For the price, that is. I wish I could afford throwing many hundreds of dollars at a high end component set. Until I win the lotto, I guess I'll have to make due. wink

You'll probably really enjoy the silk dome tweeter. Smooth highs, not bright like titanium or some others. It's just too bad they don't come with one of Bahn's slick selectable crossovers.

Is the 50W you speak of from a head unit or an outboard amp? If you're talking HU, I wouldn't get the Bahn's unless you plan on upgrading to one later. They're inefficient components (probably overrated by Bahn at 91dB) and won't be anywhere near their potential with only 20W RMS from a HU (peak power is a useless measure).

I too am interested in hearing some reviews of Audiobahns line. I have looked at it first hand, but not heard it. I am impressed with looks, but that is only a small part of the equation.

I do not like the weight on their subs, especially their 85# woofer!

I am as much interested in going fast with big sound, and heavy euqipment goes against that. Thats why I gave up on PPI pro flat piston woofers. They sounded great, but not worth the weight.

I am really interested in their amps though, especially in the amount of power they claim to put out for the size.

Any other opinions?

ok so call me crazy but why reduce the speaker size? wouldn't a 6x8 get better bass than the 5x7? i know quality matters, but so does size (in some cases) smile

The actual difference in cone area between a 6x8 and 5x7 is probably negligible and it seems that the higher end products between the two sizes always seem to be 5x7s. I don't know why that is but if you look around, Infinity, Eclipse, Crystal, Boston, etc all make real nice 5x7s.
