My alarm is jacked up and I want to remove it and revert back to original ford keychain. Is this an easy process? What would I need to do?

Thx

should be simple depends how it was installed. What kind of alarm is it? you could just unplug main harness unless theres starter kill you should be able to use your factory remote then.

You could always bring it to whoever put it in a say take it out!

There is a starter kill...

Do you think the installer would charge to remove the alarm?

Ungo MS2007...

Oh ya they will charge unless it was put in at CC or BB.

Starter kill a tad more complicated but it could still be done depending on your knowledge of automotvie wiring

My '96 Contour had a Silencer alarm. Basically it's an overpriced kill switch.

I decided to remove it since it was far more likely that the Silencer would crap out and not let me start the car than it was that someone would steal the car.

Well I'm glad that I did because the loser who installed that thing didn't even crimp the butt connectors properly, and when I tugged on the wire it came right out of the connector. If that had happened on it's own, I wouldn't have been able to start the car.

All I have to do to remove it was to find the two wires in the factory harness that it was connected to, disconnect them from the silencer module (one of them disconnected itself as mentioned above), and reconnect them together.

The two wires that it was connected to are the same color and it's obvious that someone cut them in half to connect the silencer module into them.
