Alright, i've done some searching, and I belive that I have a bad IMRC, but would like some opinions.

Here's the deal. About 6 months ago, my car began to act like it was not getting enough fuel when at higher RPMS and below a 1/4 tank. This initially led me to belive the fuel pump. However the problem has now migrated to where if I have 1/2 (and sometimes 3/4) tank or less it's causing the same issue, feels like it's not getting enough gas over 4k RPM. It only does it when under load, ie. acceleration, not when I just rev the engine.

Occasionally I'll get a really high pitched whine (much like alternator noise, except it's comming from the engine). It's not the typical moosing noise, I've had that fixed.

The CEL came on a few weeks ago, so I need to get that checked, and it may tell me more. Would a fuel pump/IMRC throw the CEL?

What's your opinion, IMRC, Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter? Where should I start as to not cost an arm and a leg.

The car has about 90,000 miles on it, the engine was replaced about 30,000 miles ago with a complete tune up done at that time.

The IMRC could very well be the cause. They run about $120 at the dealer. I was having the same problem. I actually just replaced my IMRC 2 days ago and I have noticed an astonishing improvement.

Good Luck

I'd try to move the imrc cams with you finger to see if they are stuck. if they are, remove the upper intake manifold and clean the plates..
