Yesterday on my way to the Home Depot with the family, we were rear ended in our van. We were stopped and the lady behind us hit us at 30+ MPH. Everyone walked away fine, very sore but fine. I think that the damage to the van was about $4000. The car that hit us (2004 WRX) probably had 10K+ in damage.

If someone rear ends you going that fast when you're stopped, they probably weren't paying a lick of attention, cause I'm sure you didn't stop too quickly in the van with the family. People that are THAT oblivious should be driving something different, like a Fiesta But I'm glad that no one is hurt. If ya need any help with getting the van back and going, let me know.

Well, we are fighting with the lady's insurance. We still don't have a rental. We are driving my parent's F-150 (10-15 mpg) I can't wait to get something cheaper on gas.

Im sure they are arguing that you threw it into reverse and tagged her at 50000 mph-

Insurance does suck. My roomate got in a wreck on the freeway a month or so ago. An F-350 rear-ended his Accord, which caused him to hit the Camry in front of him. Of course, it totalled his car. Since the truck rear-ended everyone, should be an easy case, right?
So, when he's fresh out of the hospital with minor whiplash, the F-350's insurance company called him and offered a "compromise". They offered to cover 40% of the damages if my roomate assumed the other 60% of the fault. Luckily he didn't have a concussion or he may have fallen for it. And it STILL took about 3 weeks before anything was settled.
I can't believe those bast**** sometimes. Makes you wonder how something so immoral can be legitimate business.

Glad you and the fam are ok, Colter. A rear-ending could be much worse, and at least you've got a (temporary, albeit) big honkin' truck to boost your morale again.
