Hello all. I have been through all the threads and can't find anything that quiet matches my issues.

I have a 95 2.0. My basic issue is that when you start the car and put it in drive or reverse or turn on the A/C (basically, anything that puts a load on it) it will lope, stutter and ussually stall unless I give it fuel.
Now, it drives down the road great and has pleanty of pick up. Sometimes when I start it it will sit and Idle fine unless I put it into gear or turn on the A/C.

I have checked the IAC and it seems to be working. It has new plugs and wires. Several of the sensors were replaced by my brother before I took over the car. I can't hear any obvious vac leaks using a hose to my ear. I have cleaned the MAF sensor and it does the same thing with the entire intake tube removed all the way to the throttle body.

Any ideas out there? I took it to ford and they said that I need to replace the harness before they will run codes. Everything else works great. The car has 190K on it and none of the recalls were done before I got it.

I could use the help ASAP. I am trying to get this thing on the road before my explorer goes into the shop.

Thanks a million,
Hallboy

I don't know if the 4 bangers have a throttle position sensor but I had similar problem with my V6 and replacing this sensor solved the problem.

You can find it at just about any autoparts store.....there is also a IAC valve too.

Cheese and Crackers!
I replaced the TPC and it had no affect. I have checked all the hoses and don't hear any hissing during idle. I do hear a hiss after turning the car off. It last for a few seconds and comes from the back side of the motor. Almost like a pressure release. I don't know if this is normal or not.
i had to have a tech at Midas use a spring loaded hammer driver to get the damn screws out of the TPS too. What a [censored].
Anyone else got any ideas? The techs could not run a diagnostic due to the fact it is a 95.

Thanks.
Hallboy
