Is 300watts enough power for a subwoofer ?? i mean without it my car vibrates from the main speakers. Lol i just need some opinions...

That depends on several things... Is that 300 watts R.M.S.? or 300 Watts I.L.S.? (If Lightning Strikes) laugh

What kind of sub are you talking? What do you want from it?

Let's put it this way, my PPI amp that was rated 100 wts would crush most rated at 300+. Basically, amps is where you don't wanna cheap out.

You shuold be paying about $2 per watt (CDN). Atleast here anyways

5 years ago I would agree with that $2.00 per watt figure, but not anymore. $1.00 per watt will get you a PPI amp. For a sub, you can get a class D amp that will cost you .25 cents per watt that are on the same level as PPI.

To answer the original question. If it is truly 300 watts, than yes. Actually, if it is even 100 watts it will be enough.

It depends on what the driver is, its enclsure, and how loud you want it to be. But in general, there is never enough power for some of us. wink

Well i pretty much want treb and bass from my trunk you know.. since i have the front and rear speakers set for vocal and bass only.. i wanted a lil more... so the ground would shake when my car is at a red light lol. I know what you mean by the money - watt power.... and i went and bought a 250watt pyramid amp ! haha it was 30 bucks ( won it at an auction ) but its real price vaule is over 350 =) erm....i guess you guys gave me the info i needed hehe the subs will be installed tomorrow morning !!!

Ijust did the conversion and it works out to about 22cents per watt USD....that is affordable LOL
laugh Just so happens I bought my car stereo stuff in Canada (Speed of SOund) and it was a good deal (for me at least)
