Dom, I really like the color. It sets off the car nicely. I'm very sure that it cost. I know the price of my repaint and with quality materials its expensive. Just to ask what were the other two color choices?
I remember the Pearl White SVT. I started putting my project together right before that was done. Very nice car.

That's somewhat the color I had in mind. Perhaps a few shades duller so as not to be blinding. Brighter colors are just my thing, but then again I'm the biggest sucker for black/carbon fibre.

No, I don't know YOU. I know of your presence and habits, via the crossfired threads involving CEG/FCO. Of course, that's past (I hope) and I've no intention of refiring such a situation. Whether or not that actually does happen is a choice placed entirely in your hands and in your hands only.
Again, I'll reiterate that I'd like to now let this be or at the very least take it to PMs. I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you because I'm not a huge fan of the new color on your car. It is, afterall, your car and you are free to do with it what you will. There's clearly many others on here that do like it, as evidenced from the 80+ replies. Let's not get so bent about one or two guys opinions, shall we?

Steel Grey Pearl Metallic (Saab) Titanium Grey Metallic (Volvo S60R)
I've seen both in person and was impressed, but the lightness of the Saab color and the relatively flat looking grey of the Volvo color drove me to the Lexus Graphite Grey Effect.

What? You think I'm a ticking timebomb ready to explode... You made it a point to go out of your way to say you didn't like it more than once... So I wanted to ask what you felt was a better color. I don't have any intention of trying to tell you this color is better, nor get into a pissing match with you over what your deal was. You tried to drop it before I could get my question answered fully. Now it is, and there we are.

Nice. I really like the color, though I'd need to see it in the light of day to get the "full effect", I'm sure.
I've always been a sucker for silver and grey cars that have been done right, though.

Since there've been some remarks about different colors and how they "don't go with the car's shape" ( ) I'd just like to add a bit more about why I like what you've done. 1. I guess I'm an old fart, but if I get a Porsche, I don't want a cop-magnet red. I really like the more understated, darker colors on the "middle year" 911s, like the dark greens with the deep tan leather interior. I don't know why, I just do. 2. I said before that the color looked "European." OK, so it's a Lexus color, but who is Lexus aimed at? What lifestyle impression does Lexus try to make? 3. I'm not actually a big fan of "charcoal" but I think it works, and I think you made a good choice. While I cried a bit at first that you were covering up T-red (possibly the best Ford color of all time) I eventually came to understand your choice. 4. OK, so the coolest thing is that you chose a non-factory color that was true to the "stealth" nature of this car. It's obviously special, and loved, but you don't see it coming from 6 miles away, and you certainly aren't sick of it before it goes by. Sorry kids, but the day-glo paint and color-change flame job is "played out" as they say. 5. As for burnt orange: I was fairly unaffected by it, but the other day we got passed by an orange Pontiac (in the minivan, of course), and my Wife said, "I can't believe that ugly 70's color is back. And on a Gran Prix, no less."
Function before fashion.

To me, the wheels and chrome portion of the headlights don't blend well, or contrast enough with the new color... Gunmetal or chrome rims and painted headlights, AKA Hightower-ised, would complete the look better IMO. Any plans in the works to continue the change, or are you satisfied with it as it sits? It sure looks like a nice quality job.

Exactly.
As Dom himself stated earlier, "To each his own..."
And that's the color I'm going to try on the ZX2.
