205/205 (underated) out of 2 liters vs 230/250 (still a bit underated) out of 2.4 liters.
Power ratio is about the same for displacement.
The Cobalt is lighter while the SRT-4 makes the fat TQ curve with the small turbo.
Cobalt runs ~3psi less boost...

People say the same thing about contours on other forums.
No german stuff in the srt4. No need for it. The mopar engineers spent a great deal of time designing a great vehicle. You'd be surprised at how well built the engine is and the amount/type of testing they did on the srt4.

I wish they put a different motor in it. I don't like the idea of using the cavalier motor, at least they supercharged it.

That's a pretty nice Cougar, I mean Cobalt.
That thing from the rear looks like a Cougar plain and simple....but hey no complaints it's much better than the Cavailer (glad they put that car out of it's misery).

Chevy's site has some more info to be gleaned. The SS will be $21K or so. Not too bad. I'll have to test drive one.

You do know that it has nothing in common with the Cavalier at all?

You need to expand your thread count in your profile. I see this post as only a page and a half!
SRT-4 and Cobalt SS sound a lot like go-fast cars for cheap, which is what the CSVT and FSVT coulda-shoulda-and woulda been had Ford decided to do a great job instead of just a good job on.
I love these new horsepower wars we're in the middle of. Now if it only carries over to the vegatable oil burning hybrids and electrics for the years to come, we'll be set for the next generation too.

To bad Ford won't get into the horsepower game.
On the hybrid note, a freind of mine here in Vienna designes hydrogen injectors for BMW, I'll ask him if he knows anything about the outputs they are getting. So far there is some company that put out a hydrogen V12 truck engine, but it's not very good. The BMW ones are going through a lot more development. He also is doing R&D for Opel(GM) and Ford.
