First of all, if there is a link to a how-to and/or troubleshoot for the Focus SVT upgrade, that may help me make sure I've done everything correctly? I've checked the brake FAQ, performed multiple searches, and just haven't come accross it. Many thanks to the patient soul that can offer it up to me.
Here's my problem... I installed the FSVT upgrade last August (yes, a year ago). I bought the kit from another very reliable member and friend who sold his car and helped me install it on mine. The kit had less then 5K miles on it when installed on my car.
Due to unrelated engine problems and lack of funds, the car has sat until now, getting less then 1K miles over the last year. However, since day one, there's always been a scraping noise from both driver and passenger brake setups. This is a light scraping noise, almost sound like something ringing. It is definitely not grinding (such as the caliper rubbing the rotor).
I had a four-wheel alignment completed a month ago. I had the rotors turned and cleaned all the breaking components yesterday. I don't think there is much to adjust except that the spacers/washers are placed correctly?
Anyone have some suggestions or links? Thanks so much!

Was the kit shimmed with washers on the caliper bracket bolts?
If not, that could be your problem.

First thing you should do, is carefully look the brakes over for any witness marks of rubbing, grinding or scoring. This will at least put you on the trail of whatever is happening.
Some detailed pics of the parts might help one of us to identify what is going on as well.

Yes - the kit has been shimmed with washers. There is definitely not any grinding. However, there seems to be some rubbing. I'll take some pics this afternoon to see if that might help you help me! Thanks!

maybe there's something different where the caliper bolts to the car that's causing clearance issues. I remember something about FSVT brakes not working on a 98 SVT. But i'm not sure...it could just be cause i got my head knocked around a bit last night.

Ok. I've finally got my pictures of the brakes. Hope this helps some folks help me!
Also, GreatOne, this installation is on my 2000 Cougar (not a 98 SVT).

Heck with the bolts, I can't see the inboard pad on that pic!

hmmm... I never noticed that before - I assume you're referring to the torx bolt, SVTb4? I'll run out and have a look to see if I can adjust that somehow.
Should you be able to see the inboard pad on the FSVT setup? I have nothing to compare too...
