I can't comment on the SVT but the duratec and zetec 5-spds turn 3k rpm at 70 on the highway
was jsut trying to say that it may not be dependent upon driving conditions
don't forget as teh brushes wear out they will begin to "float" and that reduces their ability to transfer power
I mean the brushes on my 99 were pretty worn when we changed it out, and it was from NH, when my 95 was always a CT car and it shows no signs of starting to fail

Wow 4200 at 120km/h !!! That's insane !
I've got a Contour SE V6 1998 and it runs at about 3200km at 120km/h
BTW, my alternator just died on me at 150000km.
I went to the first place I could find when I noticed the batterie light go on: CTire !
They claim 350$ for the alternator from Ford and about 2 hours of labor to fit it in. As it's dec 23 and I'm about 40km from my regular mecanic, I figure even towing it over to them with cover the cost and I'd ahve to wait for the 27th or so before he could get to it.
What do you all think ?
(BTW, I'm gonna read that alternator FAQ)
