My air conditioning isn't very cold these days. Is this common on a 98.5 Contour v6 with 68,000 miles? Maybe I just need a recharge? Anyone else have this problem with their cars?
Thanks,
Scott

Mine just stopped working. I checked all the fuses and no luck what so ever. I dont know whats wrong with it. The blower motor is fine, but the A/C wont turn on. One day its working fine, nice and cold, the next nothing. Good luck with yours, mine is a 98SVT. -B.

I don't know if it's common but I have a 98.5 Mystique V6 with 111,000 miles and my AC seems to be as cold as when I first drove it home from the dealer. Now that I think of it that was at the end of the month of November and about 35F degrees but you know what I mean.

The only time I had any trouble was earlier this summer when I had it apart doing some engine work and I pedaled to work for two weeks straight. The first time I drove the car the AC wasn't cold at all and I figured something had rusted and seized up that I would have to replace. The next day it was back to normal.

Thanks for the replies. After checking through some of the archives, the compresser is cycling ok and both my engine fans are working and the temperature gauge is on the low side of normal. The air is getting cooled, its just not very cold. I think I will try to recharge it this weekend while I'm visiting my dad. I'll let you all know how that works out.
