OP irvinibob New CEG\'er I Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 14 california	I got a p420 & p430 code on the odbII. does this mean i have to change the catilic converter. And is there more than one.

Roz 1999 SVT-C Hard-core CEG'er R Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 3,506 San jose, Ca	Yes, these are bad precat codes.....4 choices, repace each precat( prices i have come to find out are about 900.00 $ Each USD) Repace with MSDS headders about $600.00 for the set plus installation which is about 8 hours. Gutt the pre-cats which is free, there is a how-to on the Main Contour.org page. Just remember to use the Mil elimnators to prevent you from getting the codes again. Or you can replace the o2 sensors in hopes that it was a faulty reading and its just the sensor that are bad. Lupe 3.0 SVT hybrid...all the fixens...Track/Race ready very soon!!!!!! 20,000 + miles

eepals_dup1 CEG\'er E Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 496 NJ	If the car is newer than 7 years or 70,000 miles, (California only) Ford will replace the pre-cats for free. It is 8 yrs/80k in the rest of the US.

It doesn't cost much just your time. Read this thread first!!!! A must read!
