Just installed my new XM radio module the other day. Thursday to be exact. The first day it was launched in michigan. All I can say is that it is SWEEEEEEET. There always seems to be something on the radio no matter what kind of music you like. Installation is relatively easy depending on experience. In all parts including the module and antenna (I already had an XM ready radio) the total cost is around $300. Not bad for cd quality sound that is virtually commericial free. Just thought I'd share

If I remember right, the 'Prime' (30% or so??) is commerical free. Otherwise you deal with a rare add every once in a while.

If you listen to Hip Hop/Rap on XM, do they destroy the songs by changing the lyrics(Biggies song Notorious Thugs comes to mind, where they used all kind of wierd sounds to cover profanity), or do they play the song how it was intended to be? If they edit the songs like FM, I won't even bother to get it...

I have not heard that they will play unedited songs. XM has commercials although they are limited and if you don't buy a HU with a build in XM receiver you will be limited to the FM reception that your radio offers. So you can kiss the CD quality sound goodbye.

The XM what brand does that go with? I have the Kenwood Z828 that is Sirus Satelite radio ready. I just need to get the special antenna (100 bones) and then subsribe (10 a month) the nice thing about it is that you can get 50 music and 50 talk stations cd quality and crystal clear. The only tim you will get bad reception isif you are in the chunnel or some really dense mountains or forests.

for thoses looking into this deck i highly recomend it not only for the satelight hook up but for it capabilities for playing CD, CDR, CDRW and MP3 encoded discs.
