Hey gang...how's everyone doing!
Got some new goodies for the car and I thought I'd share...
I mentioned in my last post that I bought a new set of tires. They're Continental Conti ExtremeContact and if anyone is in the market for an ultra high performance tire, by all means get those! They simply rock! The wet grip is excellent, and the dry grip is outstanding. So good I snapped the right rear sway bar mount!
I've got the aussie bar and it's welded in...but the actual chassis mount point snapped. I took it to a local mechanic that I've known for years (he builds hot-rods now...) who did some custom metal fab and welded in new mount points on both sides. Solid as a rock now.
I've been throwing a P401-catalytic converter (???) code for a while now. So whereas my inspection sticker needed to be renewed in August...I broke down and bought the high flow Y-pipe/Cat from BAT (made by Magnaflow actually) and had him install that while the car was there. Holy crap what a difference that made! The car goes like a bat-outa-heck now...more so than usual! If you're thinkin' about doing this mod...do it. It's worth the money IMHO.
To top it off, I needed a new right rear caliper. The old one was dragging and was super heating (boiling) the fluid. So when I drove for long distances, and went to use the brakes...they didn't work so well. Almost not at all...which is very very bad. Especially when you're doing 100+ on 495 South and someone decides to brake for no apparent reason...
Oh, and don't tell anyone...but I washed and waxed the car today! Just in time for Fall...
