someone mentioned in the neco forums that you guys possibly might have some info on a replacement altenator for the 2.5's, that are 200 amps?

i'm looking for anything that is over the stock rating, cause mine just doesn't cut the cake... thanks

hey if you read in the audio section and others it is a well known fact that the stock alternator is plenty for basically everyone out there. It is rated at 135, which is quite a bit.

The weak link is wiring...so even if you buy a high performance alternator you will still need to upgrade that. Buy 0 guage or 4 guage and upgrade all the wiring from battery to alternator and you should be good to go.

I did that. I have a 4 guage from the alt to a distro box, and another 4 gauge from the starter to the same distro box. The car starts up much faster than with the OE wiring.

i'm mainly having problems with my interior & headlights dimming down substantially when i slow down to below 1500 rpm... this is why i was thinking the altenator might not be up to par. i'm only running an aftermarket headunit, no amps or anything.. do you guys think it is the altenator or it could be another problem? thanks

Didn't someone on here buy one of those? I was curious how they liked it, I am considering one myself.
