Ok ... so my timing belt tensioner blows up. No problem .. get a new one and fixed .. nice. Next Brakes go to hell... no problem .. get that fixed. Engine light comes on !!. Turns out it is a tansmission module... get that fixed. The damn car still does an RPM search while at a stand still. Changed the MAF. Still does the RPM search . Ok now i'm gettin poor .. and really starting to hate this car. Anyone ever have this rpm problem ... it revs up and down for a bit then stalls ... whenever i come to a stop.

Welcome to the club.....IAC is a possible culprit

this may be a long shot... But maybe your Throttle Position Sensor? Its only a 25$ part at autozone. The ONLY problem you are going to run into with that... is the two philips head screws that secure the Sensor to the throttle body... they are a [censored] to get off. I wasnt able to get them off... So im going to take it to my mom's very trusted mechanic and see if he will do it for me for cheap... Since I already have the part I need and have a 3 month warrenty on it.
BTW: This is a little off topic, but how do those Pioneer 3 way speakers sound? I found some for like 60$ a pair on sale That I am thinking about picking up.

so my engine light came on ... FOR THE BILLIONTH time. Got the code pulled. p0133- Oxygen sensor problem. Ok so i find out we have 2 of the damn things, each over 100 bucks ... how do i find out if its the front or rear sensor? Could that be the rpm problem ? oh ya .. Welcome to dumbass Ontario where i have to get it fixed in order to pass assrape emissions testing . Argg sorry guys .. just so frustrating that i have been sinking so much money into this car.

That is the top o2 sensor and they're like $60. www.oxygensensors.com Though usually something causes them to go bad. Check for vacuum,intake,exhaust leaks,etc. Also clean the MAF. I've had to replace my top o2 sensor twice in 2 years with no definite reason of what caused them to go bad.

PO133 - Your upstream O2 sensor is bad, it is like $65 for a Bosch one from NAPA.
As for your idle, clean your idle air control valve, check for vacuum leaks and intake leaks.
Your TPS isnt bad as someone said, that wouldnt cause your idle to go up and down and stall out. I just have to replace my upstream O2 every 18k or so, cant find the problem of why it fails so soon.

what is a TPS... they mentioned it was the IAC. So it seems you guys are saying that it could be the O2 sensor causing the rpm search . I have replaced the MAF and have checked and found no vacume leaks .( by the way its been a mechanic thats done this for me ) Any other ideas?

Get a GOOD manual on the car and a good meter. Check all sensors according to the book. Clean each sensor connection with Electric part cleaner only, dab a bit of silicon grease on the connection - to seal out moisture and air , to aid assembly and disassembly. Three runs by the clutch installer to finaly clean and attatch the O2 sensor correctly and clear my CEL(Contour Enthusiasts Light). Check and clean first - its the cheapest thing to do. Replace only what you know is not up to spec.... AND good luck....

ok you guys told me what a p0133 code was.. saying it was the front o2 sensor. Whats a p1131 code?
