Hey guys,

Any C-Class owners out there? I just pulled a P0455 code from my GF's 1998 MB C230.

The generic definition is "Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak)".

Any idea on what this might cost to fix? Or where the leak may be coming from?

TIA

Yeah, check the gas cap first off.

I believe Hitman is right.. Tighten the gas cap, disconnect the battery for 20+ mins, and see if it comes back. Happened to me once during hard acceleration, never came back after that.

Well what do you know?! I went out to check her gas cap, and it was barely threaded on. Her dad had filled her tank last, and I guess he lacks the mechanical aptitude to properly close a gas tank!

Thanks for the suggestion.
