MSDS are the ones to get. Weapon R are a waste of money, albeit less money than MSDS, but MSDS are worth the higher price when compared to Weapon R...
Sorry, don't know of a "cheap" place to get them.

Hijacking...this topic since it's been discussed 5.3 billion times.
The Weapon R headers require welding, is this because they come with the 3 bolt flange(which only work on ATX and very very few MTX) and you have to weld to properly connect the 3 bolt to a 2 bolt? Or is their more that needs to be welded.
Also, My understanding of the Weapon Crap headers is that they copied the MSDS design down to the Tee but they didn't change bolt flange for the ATX MTX difference. So does this explain why some people have no problems with the weapon R and other do because of the welding?
Lastly, I read either here or on NECO (can't remember) that the MSDS headers flow better, how could that be if they were both mandrel bent and Weapon R took the EXACT design?
Can anyone key in on this for me...If its been answered before sorry. I just thought these were a few good questions.

WR headers only come with the 3 bolt flange.
What is typical for the WR headers is to replace your stock 2 bolt flange with a 3 bolt & the WR fit there. Other problems with them commonly reported are: 1) the EGR connector is not proplerly located & the EGR tube requires bending or other effort to gain the extra length to fit right. 2) They come with no hardware for installing. You've gotta go out & get bolts, nuts, gaskets. 3) They are SS so they radiate a LOT more heat under the hood than the MSDS design. This may account for the noted flow differences, but I'd expect that to be minimal.

See note 3 above.

If it's true that MSDS headers flow better, it could be that they have higher quality welds. I've read reports that the WR has crappy welds, leaving flash on the inside of the tubing.
SS is actually a poorer heat conducter than mild steel, btw.
Function before fashion.

true but the MSDS headers have a ceramic coating on them to keep heat from radiating off them

I've heard that too, but not from anybody who actually owns a set, so I take it with a grain of salt.

OK, if you say so. Really, I didn't know. I was just relaying the issues that have been reported by folks I know have them.

I still have my WR's in their boxes on the floor of the shop. Maybe some day I'll put 'em in.

If you're serious I have a set of jet hot coated MSDS headers laying around and a 4MP camera. I can take pictures of all or any areas you would be curious about.
