Hey everyone (or hey y'all ) I am looking at doing grad school at Georgia U and was wondering what impressions of Georgia Georgiaites (Georgians? ) had? What is the cost of living like? The weather? How often do you all have meets? Thanks for your impressions.

Do it, come here. Which college you talking bout GSU or UGA? If UGA, cost of living not bad. If GSU, it'll be a bit higher, but still not bad. Weather is pretty good around here. You'll have to get used to the heat and humidity though. We don't have enough meets right now, but we do have them occasionally. And like me and sav-zx2 met up this past weekend, so that was sorta a mini-meet. I'm looking at planning a meet or two in the future once NOPI and the tail of the dragon run are over. Overall, it's a pretty good place to go to school. I wouldn't want to stay here my whole life, but I enjoy going to college here.

Yeah, Georgia is excellent as far as cost of living and things like that. I take a trip up to UGA about once every six months just because I'm amazed at how great a school it is and I love the Bulldawgs. I'll be heading up there for my Journalism major in about 2-3 years, but for now I'm down here in Savannah. Like Ross (Kremit) said, we're working on the meet aspect, but we should have a few more in the not too distant future. If anybody is up for a meet or would like some better impressions on GA, feel more than free to PM me. I've lived here 9 years so far and it doesn't look like I'm going anywhere soon.

I don't post much anymore but try to visit the board as often. There are a few old timers on the board who probably remember me....:D
As far as the University of GA, since its in my back yard I'll try to give you an unbiased opinion. I'm not sure where your from but you really have tons of resources at with in an hour driving time in literally all directions. The awesome mountains of Northeast GA, (plenty of CEG meets of the past), and Atlanta (also a couple of CEG meets thanks to mr. Perry Wolf) are a few places.
The university culture is kinda cool but has lots of places to party all hours of the day. Cool places to eat, (Mia Madonnas, Porterhouse steak house, Basil Press, etc...) and some relaxed, just as many to chill and have a beer with friends (or a soda if you choose).
The music scene is alright for a town that is "small"! The B-52's, REM and a few other artist have either played or started in Athens.
I could go on and on. If you would like to email me please do so and I'll fill you in as much as I know.
Until then,
Grady

*laugh* Don't talk to a Colorado man about mountains!
University of Georgia is my first choice but Georgia State also has my program. I won't have a ton of time, but I would like to get to the occassional meet.
Thanks for the info

I would go to UGA, a good bit easier to live in Athens than Atlanta.

I don't know what your major is, but DO NOT go to Savannah College of Art & Design ... located, of course in Savannah, GA. I am sorry to say I've spent the pervious two years in Savannah and have regretted every hour. The only hint of enjoyment is a majority of women who lack an apparatus of ââ?¬Ë?breastular containment.ââ?¬â?¢ Chicks donââ?¬â?¢t wear bras down here, its wonderful.
