OP SBMTbiker New CEG\'er S Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 16 Santa Barbara	I am hearing a slight ticking at idle on my 2.5L V6. When I rev the engine the sound is drowned out. I'm thinking it must not be the valves since it either goes away or is drowned out at higher revs. Could it be the water pump starting to go? My temp. guage has been normal. I have 68,000 miles on my 98.5 Contour. The sound is a little more like a pop than a click. I got under the car near the water pump, but wasn't sure if the sound was coming from there. Any insight?
