I took my car to the dealership after my CEL popped on.. They said something similiar about the engine not used to getting so much air from the intake that i have. But, I don't have any problems.

I don't know much about your problem though, I just think that the dealership always tries to take your money for pointless repairs.

mantookme awhile to red thatwith teh badd grammeran d stuf.

The dealer is full of crap if they think your problem is with the KKM. It's a filter. There's even legal decisions that have been made that say a dealer can't deny you service because of a different air filter.

Anyway, they're stupid, and trying to screw you.

"crock of sh~t"

The engine only pulls in as much air as it can. That's why it's called naturally aspirated.

Now a conical filter on the stock MAF can cause stumbling problems but I am sure your SEARCHED and found out that by rotating your MAF you can help alleviate the problem.

Also in that SEARCHing you surely found out about cleaning the MAF element and the fact an oiled cotton gauss filter tends to increase it's service interval.

My God, you just gave me a headache trying to read your post. Here's an idea if you want people to read your posts and try to help you, you'll have to try to be more intelligent and express yourself using English, not jibberish. I'd have to rate your current post right up there in the top ten of "WTF". Try to do better next time, OK? BTW, did the dealer kiss you first before they screwed you?

had this same problem with my 300z. it was turbo but when i installed the jwt intake kit on it it would stumble and hesitate a bit at idle and mid range rpm. the fix was a strip of duct tape on it. the added air from the new intake would make turbulance and mess up the readings. ive never had this happen to the contour tho

I thought tailboardrider's post was a poem. Like the great poet e. e. cummings, he made creative use of punctuation, maintained a consistent rhythm and tone, and even created new vocabulary. I had no idea what he was writing about, but that makes it all the more profound. A-

this ranks high in my book of stupid mechanic crap. I would give it second place right after
"by replacing dual chamber resonator w/ a highflow muffler you are loosing backpressure and decreasing engine performance"
but before
"custom wheels are like jewelry to your car. there is no other reason why you'd put'em on"

find another dealer.
