I don't like buying stuff and having it sound like crap, but I don't have much I would be able to spend, maybe less than $200.

I was thinking of trying to find a good deal on some RF products.

I want a little more bass in my system (which is only Pioneer 3-way door speakers and a Panasonic head unit with pre-amp outputs) but I don't want to weigh down the car (I'm a performance freak). So I thought I could probably go with a single 10" sub and that wouldn't be too heavy.

I was currently shooting for probably a RF P2002 amp paired up with a P110S4 10" sub. If I can find a deal on those components, maybe I can keep it under $200.

I'd much rather have tight, accurate bass then loud "boomy" bass

So, if you wanted to do this as cheap as possible but still have good sound quality, what would you get for an amp+sub+box?

Sub + amp = 200? Thats kind of tight if you want quality with tight bass.

Heres what I got

Alpine Mrpf240 4CH i think 360 Watts from Panasonic HU. Speakers are Infinnity Kappas and my sub is a JL Audio 10W0

I think i got around 180 on the speakers 400 for amp and wiring and the free Sub was 100.

Its a decent system Plenty of SQ but for 200 dlls I dont think you'll go too far.

I went ultra cheap, cause I was planning to spend a little
more than normal on a headunit.
went to etronics.com
spent ~160.00
for a 10 in a box rated 500w,
with an amp 600w(with line level inputs),
wiring kit,
and shipping.

It was a nice enough addition to the stock set up.
Doesn't blow out the neighborhood, and in the
car it sounds good to me..

But for the extra $40 you want to spend... I'm sure you
can splurge at etronics... LOL... only thing I'd do differently
is go portless on the sub...

I paid under 200 for my Fosgate 400S and my 12" Kicker w/box. I think it sounds nice.

Well I found the RF P2002 amp for $129, and the P110S4 10" RF sub for $50, but I'm still short all the wiring I'd need.

Looks like I need more money in my budget

Did a quick search on ebay.

Here's little 8" Kicker sub for $50 shipped. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this sub can be free-air mounted (rear deck).

Here's a kicker amp for $97.50 shipped. Says 120x1 RMS, should do an ok job pushing the 8.

Not too bad for $147.50. I'm sure you could do even better with a little more searching around on Ebay.
