OK....just got another water pump replaced. They keep replacing them but they can't solve the problem.

Last time folks, the discussion went into the radiator hose. It seems to disintegrate and cause the pump seal to fail. Someone mentioned that a Ford mechanic told them of the procedure to solve the problem.

Long flush, change hose, presto no problemo!

Anybody have more specific info so that my ford mechanic can call or look this up and give me the service that I need?

God help the WATER PUMPS!

Important change : Long backflush

Debris lodged in the radiator, heater core, and block must be backflushed out - seperately if possible.

I had the same problem. backflush thouroughly i didn't replace the hose though....haven't had a problem since...

Upper hose does disentigrate and cause the problem from what I understand. Upper hose is the big molded hose...
