Hi Gang,

Having a little problem with a check engine light. Maybe someone with past experience can help me.

I just got all of the brake pads replaced, rotors turned, and one rear caliper replaced to totally service the Brake system on my 99 SVT. Only problem is after everything was done I now have a check engine light that has stayed on all day long. I have never in the life of the car had the light illuminate so it had to be something with the brake service

Anyone have a clue why the Check Engine light would hard fault with a brake servicing? I cant recall what in the brake system would trip the light, ABS possibly?

Thanks for any help,
Bob

The CEL has nothing to do with the braking system, including the ABS.

You will have to have the codes pulled. AutoZone and other chain stores will do this for free. WRITE DOWN the codes (not the text descriptions) and post then back here for help in diagnosis.
