Car starts and runs just fine. Drive for a while and park. Start engine a bit later and the CEL comes on, fans come on full blast and the engine starts revving (1800 RPM max). Timing also seems to advance in that it starts pinging like crazy. The temp gauge acts and reads normal.

118 is a coolant temp sensor reading too low. I've changed the sensor (what a pain!).

I know that some '95s have bad engine harnesses but my seems OK.

Any suggestions? Other posts concerning the coolant temp sensor don't mention the other symptoms.

Thanks!

That's the ECT which has a two wire connector as opposed to the Temp. sender which has one. If you replaced the correct one, must be the wiring.
