i have a 98 contour svt its up forsale and i had 18in wheels on it 225/40/18 and they only rubbed on back when hitting a bump well i sold them to a guy with a 2000 tour svt and he said there rubbing on front and not riding straight. is the factory suspension the same from the 1998 to the 2000 i noticed his sat 1/2in to 1in lower then my car when i was puting them on for him and his is all factory. someone told me his springs are sagging? im just so confused by this hes calling me bitchin acting like my wheels are pieces of [censored] and i sold htem to him for $500 with tires motegi mr7 in chrome with the tires. hopfully somone can help me out with this and tell me what they know thanx

I think, IMHO, that if you put that size tire/wheel on your car, you run the risk of rubbing.

Also, cars vary. Some people have rub and others don't. Yes, springs can sag over time, or the car's weight distribution can be different enough. It is plausible that your rub story is different than his.

i also heard tht some contours had a recall with somthing with the springs maybe and they put a shield on there and if he has one that it will rub. im tring to get this guy off my back i sold him them wheels and its a final thing
