I am having trouble taking the axle of the drivers side. Can someone tell me how to get it off, I thought they slid in like the pass. side but it seems to be locked in. Thanks in advance for the help.

It should be the same on both sides. There should be a small C-clip over the end of the axle that holds it in place. You may have to jerk the axle abruptly, or use some kind of device to pop it out of the socket. The C-clip is the only thing that holds it in place though.

You can rent an axle puller from auto zone for free. In 1 minute you will have it out with no damaged. and yes replace the c clips on the end of the axle shaft.
