I have 39,000 on my svt I am on my 3rd engine and now my car is at ford because the tranny is messed up. They want 750 just to see whats wrong inside! What are my options here? Does the tranny have a 50,000 warranty on it? Should I try to get a lemon policy on it?? Or should i just pay an arm and a leg to have it fixed? I need advise guys thanks!

The powertrain warranty from Ford is 3yrs/36,000 miles unless you purchased an extended service plan. Also, with Lemon Laws, you'll need to check your state laws. In Wisconsin, the dealer can make four attempts to fix the same problem. Since this is a different problem than the engine, it wouldn't qualify. Still, your state may be different, so check with your DOT.

You could try explaining what's going on and likely someone here will be able to help you at least diagnose the problem. If this is the same place that has replaced your engine twice already, my only advice at this point would be to find a different shop.

The lemon law(at least in Texas) says that if your are the original purchaser of a new vehicle and have had the same problem repaired 3 times in 12 months, then the dealership will be required to take back the vehicle and give you a "comparable" vehicle. My friend bought a new Ford Explorer whose sunroof continued to leak after 3 repairs and they took it back and gave her a Mercury Mountaineer.

Lemon laws vary from state-to-state. In Maine, you must apply within eighteen months of new. However, Ohio may be a state which requires manufacturers to fix cars under a warrnaty of merchantability. Essentially, if a transmission should last for more than 39,000 miles, then it has to be repaired. What is wrong with the trans?
