Nah...the passenger airbag is attached to the firewall. It's not attached to the dash at all. My uncle and I did a dash swap in about 5 hours. I got a brand new one from Ford for $600 (using my Uncle's body shop discount). I also bought the dash fix kit and put that on the new one before putting it in. The hardest part of the job was the disassembly. The steering column has to be dropped, both front seats have to come out, and all the dash trim including the center console have to come out. Then you have to swap the wiring harness from the old dash to the new one. Only took about an hour to put it all back together. And the black dash fix kit looks good with my grey interior (the fix kit has a nice wrinkle finish to it).

i have a 98 and its warped. the front of my dash in front of the defrost is peeling up and the parts right above my instrument cluster is starting to turn too.
