Everything in my 96 Tour is currently stock and I have no experience installing car audio stuff.

I have an Alpin CDA 9830, and THESE speakers.

What is the next step?

I know that I need some kind of wiring harness but I don't know what it looks like or where to get it.

Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.

You can get the wiring harness at any audio shop. Splice the wires into the deck harness, then plug the other side into the factory connector in the dash. Get some of those "U" shaped tools to remove the deck also.

Should be a how-to for removing the door panels around here somewhere. Try a search. You can use some blade connectors to plug the speaker wire into the factory plugs in the door.

HTH.

What you want to ask for is a factory amp bypass harness. Ideally you would like to use this harness along with the one that came with your radio. You need to connect the bypass harness to the speaker out of the factory amp and splice the other end of the harness into the speaker outputs of the alpine. BTW can you give a review of this deck when you are done? I am also considering an Alpine HU.

alright, I have everything ready and have hooked up the head unit and tested it. Now I'm wondering exactly how it slides in.

In the book that came with it it say the mounting sleeve is supposed to go in first. The mounting sleeve is already attached to the head unit and I can't get it off. I can't seem to keep the locking pins in the up position.

Anyone have any experience installing an Alpine and want to give me a step by step?

thanks for everyone's help thus far.

I just realized I was trying to slide thwe mounting sleeve off the wrong way. Now my question is how is the head unit removed? I don't see how it is possible to access the locking pins when the head unit is in the dash.

The head unit can be removed using the removal tools (usually a pair of flat metal pieces) that slide into slots onto each side of the head unit which release the head unit from the mounting collar and give you something to pull the head unit out with.

I got my head unit installed. Next step is the door speakers.
