My antennae stays up all the time too. On my deck I have an amp turn-on and a power antennae wire. I have the Power antennae wires spliced together, but I always have the antennae up though I never use the radio just CD and or Changer. Antennae goes down when I turn off the deck so I know it works.

Any ideas? I might put in a switch to raise the antennae when I need it. Anyone know how I would do that?

I'm pretty sure it involves a DPST switch. I was going to install one myself over the summer, but ran out of time. One of the CEG'rs recommended a push button on the steering wheel column which can raise or lower the antennae manually.

For the life of me, though, I don't know how you would wire it (aside from involving the antennae wire of your system) and how you could run the wiring inside the dash from the head to the steering wheel. Maybe he'll notice this and answer these questions, heh.

Hey.
It's been awhile since I posted.
There was a post on this before. It might depend on the stereo you have. The 2 Kenwoods I've had both worked with the power antenna. I'm not sure, but would assume, that other decks should work the same. It should only be the power antenna wire on the deck to the power antenna wire for the car. That should be all you have to do. Check the manials for each deck to see if they work in that fashion.

If not, do the remote switch.

Why on earth did you guys splice the power ant and amp on wires together? They both should be seperate. The one for the power ant only sends power when the radio is on. The amp on sends power when ever the deck is on, be it CD/cassette or radio. Splice them together and of course your ant is going stay up. BTW, wish I had a power ant!

That's just how your HU works. A switch is the only way.
