I want to change the fan on my computer. It's really loud and probably not the best fan ever. I want one that is quiet (doesn't have to be super quiet, I think anything will be less noisy than this one) yet still can suck/blow air (whatever they do). It also has to be pretty cheap. Can I just remove the old fan and replace with the new fan? I've thought about replacing the CPU's fan as well but I've heard things about having to be real careful when doing it with a AMD, or maybe that was just the heatsink. If I could change that fan easily as well, I will do it too. Any advice/links will be appreciated. My computer is a HP pavilion 7935. Thanks.

Neither one is difficult to change. The cpu fan is just screwed into the heatsink...you don't even need to remove the heatsink to replace the fan. The case fan is pretty much the same...just swapping out and pretty easy to do as long as they are the same size fans.

I bought mine from best buy for around $10, but that has the blue LED's in it. Fans are an easy swap. Yes, they all do both, it just depends which way you mount it.

No, they suck and blow at the same time no matter which way they are mounted. It just depends on how you look at them

Also check out www.newegg.com as far as I know most case fans are the same size. Not sure on the processor fans, I have seen different sizes.

I usually get my fans and stuff from 1CoolPC . They're pretty cheap and have lots of different types of fans (quieter case fans for example).

Thanks ya'll. My case fan is 90mm and cpu fan is 60mm. I also am getting a whirring noise on startup, do you think it is the fans or something else? Thanks.
