there are two wires from my IAT and they are colored white with a maroon stripe and white with a purple stripe which is positive and which is negitive. thanx

Neither one.

One sends the signal from the PCM and the other returns it.


The temperature of the air changes the resistance and thus is how the computer tells the ambient temperature.


Besides you don't want to be fooling with that sensor anyway.
Especially if you were putting voltage or common to it.
