I did an oil change on a 2000 Mazda MPV (which has basically the same V6 as the 'tour) recently and I noticed that it had a metal shield between the oil filter and the exhaust pipe that diverted the used oil away from the exhaust. Looked to me like it was held in place by the two bolts at the foreward edge of the y-pipe and can easily be installed, especially if your putting in an aftermarket y-pipe at the same time. Can anyone here find the part # for this shield? And can you get it from Ford, or do you have to go to Mazda? I know I make a mess whenever I change the oil on my 98 'tour, even with the aluminum foil trick that someone here mentioned.

LOL can you make one? Better than paying Ford $20 or whatever for one of them.
