My car just started revving to 4 grand everytime I depress the clutch. The revs hang and the problem seems exaggerated by the a/c. I suppose this is due to the IAC needing replaced? If somebody can please confirm this and tell me roughly how much this cost, it would be a big help. My car is pretty dangerous like this. It seems like I'm slipping the clutch and the car surges everytime I let the clutch out. It's very annoying.

Also, how long does this take to replace? Is it a simple rr? Thanks,

Takes 30 mins at MOST or so to replace for your first time, faster when you install it. Good Luck and let us know if the IAC fixed your problem. Also, try cleaning it out before you buy a new one, might fix your issue. Do a search and you should find all you need to know about cleaning, removal and such.

I haven't heard of the IAC causing an over-rev condition, most of the time it causes stalling or lack of idle. check for frayed throttle cable, or something interfering with the throttle mechanism from coming to rest. I had an over-rev problem that was caused by the cruise control cable end working out of the bracket and interfering with the throttle cable. once I got it popped back in place, everything was back to normal.
