1999 SE Sport. Duratec - 5 sp. Showing error code P0402 "egr flow excessive at idle" Ran the car almost completly out of gas and the light came on. Related? It reset but I haven't driven the car since to see if it will stay off. Is there some sort of info available so when you get these error codes you could know exactly what's wrong and what to do to fix it?

Bank 2 O2 sensor #2 is showing excessive flow. Time to replace it. My CSVT is currently at the dealer having this done as they did not remount the connecter plug to the transmisson when second gear was replaced. Connecter melted all over Y-pipe.

how can this be the O2 Sensor? This error comes from the DPFE. I just had this issue 2 weeks ago. I had a 401 and a 402, First the 401 popped on, so i cleaned the EGR passages and back of TB. next I got a 401 and 402 at the same time. which means low and high egr flow at the same time.huhhh so then I changed the DPFE. Probblem fixed, gas mileage back to normal.

Also while i was doing the egr passages, I found the plastic clip that holds the IMRC rod to the secondaries was gone, so my secondaries were running, who knows for how long it had been this way.

but anyways i am not sure that a 402 has anything to do with your O2 sensor.
