hey guys (and the few girls that are on here) i've been out of the loop for a while with the group, how's everyone doin, good i hope. well i got rid of my 98 svt and realized after a year, that it's one of the best sport sedans to ever grace the streets. so now, i'm on my quest of getting another svt (a 99+) i found one for a really good price and i love it, the only thing that i don't like about it is the spoiler (it's the stock spoiler) how hard is it to switch over to a 3rd brake light set up?

this is what i think it involves, if i'm wrong please shed some light. i want to totally get rid of the trunk lid w/the spoiler, go to a junk yard get a trunk lid w/o the spoiler and grab the 3rd brake light (and needed wires or harness) while i'm at it and also the rear deck (the part between the back seats and the rear window). then once i have all the parts try to figure out how it all goes.

does that sound about right? i really like the car, but i like it a lot more with out a spoiler, it looks soooooo much smoother and gives me the "O Face"

i think a simple way of wiring it would be to use the wires that powered the spoilers brake lights to power your other third brake light, mounting and all that i dont know about

doing the wiring that way would make it easy because it would light when is needed and not light when not needed

yeah, thanks man, i just didn't know how to approach the whole conversion but, i think i'll just run the wires from the spoiler like you mentioned and try that. i gotta see how the ones with the 3rd brake light are mounted to the rear deck so i can see what all i'll need to do it (mounting the housing) and do it right. thanks again

When you install the third brake housing in the back window make sure to put something around it to keep it from vibrating.. it does that quite easily, and is very anonying even worse if you have a sound system.
