well it seems like my flex pipe is damaged, cat is fine, and the only way to fix it is to replace both of them, which doesnt make sense since everything, including the flex pipe is working fine. is it possible to just fix the flex pipe?

Yes....cut it off, weld on a new one....

ok so you can cut it off...the shop i went to said that i would have to replace both the flex pipe and the cat, because they were connected, even though the cat was fine...i was like...uh...do you think im stupid, im not replacing the cat if its not bad...

BEEN THERE BEFORE, the funny thing is that midas said i needed a new one too and needed to orderr it so i said i'd be back, whent to ford got it fixed free under the federal 8/80,000 warranty and never herd back from midas seeing when i wanted to get it instaled, guess they never ordered it like they said they would and call me

The steel ones -stock- are available at muffler shops, I went down and they showed me one. Too small for me, good for stock.
