Ok I have a new water pump, thermostat, coolant, oil, and a good headgasket yet the car will overheat if I start to do city driving. The fans do come on, but I don't know if they come on at the right time. Maybe my radiator fan switch is bad? Is this a common problem? If so what is the fix?
Thanks in advance.

What engine do you have? Zetec or Duratec?

Tough to tell you what to do as Zetecs run around the A or L of NORMAL on the temp gauge.
Duratec's run around the O or R on the gauge.

Lately it's been 30C here and my Duratec runs at the A during city driving. Normaly it's around the O.

As long as it doesn't go into the red area your ok.

It's a zetec, the duratecs in the sable. Anyway thats good to know but most of my cars only hit the middle and stay there. Plus it does appear to be a little warm. Most of the time it stays in the middle and only hits the a to L in stop and go.

I have a 96 Mystique too and when I first bought it I had the same problem with it overheating. The dealer replaced the water pump, thermostat, and some other things but it never seemed to work right. Then one day I noticed a belt was cracked and replaced it for $10 and never have had a problem with the overheating since.
