AHHH.. I left for a while because I sold my second green CSVT back in the summer of 03. I finished my 4.6l swap into a mustang a couple of months ago. Last wednesday.. the worst happened... let me tell you a little about the car first. The car was originally a green automatic 99 v6 with tan interior. I Did a little work. I changed every wiring harness in the car, even the body wiring harness because i didn't want to splice the wires in the back for my cobra tail lights. I changed the tan interior to dark charcoal with 03 cobra seats. I changed the dash, the petals for a 5spd, ... everything. I stripped the car down to nothing, pulled all the brake lines out, all the power steering, all of the ac, cooling, and engine. I dropped the 4.6l in, put the hydraboost in, new power steering rack and pump, put ABS in the car with traction control (it didnt' have it before), Changed the brakes to cobra brakes, put the Indepedent rear end in from an 03 cobra with 3.55 gear. Put oem ford 00 cobra r wheels on with bfg kdw 275s in the rear, 245 in front. I had 99 cobra trans with triax, dual friction centerforce clutch, billet aluminum flywheel. Also bilstein, and H&R's... 850#/inch rears 700#/inch front.. it was stiff as hell.. and it drove like a dream. I also had ceramic coated shorty headers, o/r x-pipe and magnaflow magnapacks. On top of all that I had the saleen routes type supercharger strapped ontop of the 4.6 with 87mm maf, 30# injectors and a tune from saleen, and from my diablo sport programmer. I also had the 99 cobra rear bumper and 03 cobra front bumper with 99 cobra hood. Everything i had was all authentic ford parts and I built the entire car. Last wednesday... I had an engine fire. Still no one knows what started it but it started inside the engine compartment. Well it would be a few thousand to fix the damaged parts... so I decided to buy another contour svt. I'm flying over to new york on monday to go look at a 00 silver contour svt. I know it's not my usual green.. but I just can't find one. Well there's my story.. and now i'm back.

Eric

Damn that sucks. Probably why most people just buy the car they want from the start instead of doing it themselves. A lot less headache. Yes you would have saved a lot of $ but now you are out a lot.

Couple things,

got pics of the mustang? I'd love to see it, the 03 bumper w/ a 99 hood had to look goofy around the grill opening

and second, PM me, I know where you could find a green 00 CSVT locally . . .

I thought it looked sweet. I didn't have any grilles or horses in the grille area.

how many miles does your green csvt have?

it was fun too though.. even working in the garage when it was 0 out... with no heater. I mean I spend 14000 total and I had a supercharged 2v with 6k miles on it, with irs rear end, nice seats, wheels.. and everything else i wanted. The fire was a build mistake.. because I had been driving the car for quite a bit before it happened. My best guess is that the engine wiring harness that was on the firewall.. somehow came unhooked and hit the right head... causing a fire. That is the only thing I can think of. They said the fire started as electrical by the firewall.. and that is the only thing that I can see catching fire. I mean.. I'm getting a lot of the money back in parts.. but i'm more upset about my time I spent on the car.

I was just busting his balls. If it was up to me he could have said he was considering selling his green SVT that was maticulously maintained and had a handful of very tasteful mod's done to it
