First off, hi...This is my 1st post.

My Contours got 2 issues I need help with if any of you can.

Number 1, the drivers window goes down fine, but when it goes up it seems to fall of the track and needs help.

Number 2, the windows all work from there respective doors, but the drivers switch plate only workd for the drivers window and the right rear will go down...thats it...

Any ideas would be great, thanks.

This is a common problem in 95 tours, I've never seen it, and don't know how to replace it. If you need further assistance with this, I'm sure someone else who has replaced the regulator can help.

To answer your second question, I have another question. Are you saying that you can operate all of the windows from their respective switches, but the driver's door switch only operates two windows? If this is your case, your driver's switch is most likely bad. You can get one from Ford Parts. Use the "contact us link" and fill out the form. They will get back with you pretty quickly. you can also get one at a local junk yard, or at your local Ford daler.

Inside the door, the window is bolted to and orange bracket.
This bracket slides up/down the window regulator shaft. Most likely the bottom of the bracket has come off the metal shaft. Mine did this recently.
If you can get a hold of a Hanes manual it tells you exactly how to remove the door panel trim and window so you can fix it. There's a lot of fussing, but it actual quite easy to do.

Once your inside the door you have to line up the screws on the bracket with the holes in the door, just roll down the window til you line it up.

Unbolt the bracket from the window. Where the 2 bolts go through the window, there are two plastic clips and you must remove these. Once removed you can slide the window up and out the opening.

Now that the window is out, you can use the window switch to slide the bracket higher in the door, just above the middle bump in the door. This will give you enough play to pop the bottom of the bracket back on the metal guide.

If not you might have to undo the 2 bolts on each end of the metal shaft.

If the bracket is broken, I suggest a trip to the wreckers.

As for the switch not working another reason to go to the wreckers!

Oh and watch out for the black adhesive on the foam padding behind the door panel. It's nasty stuff!

I jsut tried my cruise control today...it don't work either......damn car only has 48K...o well maybe it's jsut a fuse.
