Kind of new here, have a recently purchased 98.0 Mystique with the 4 cylinder. Enjoy the car and it drives well.

I am at 26MPG or so communting. Much chance that I can go higher, commuting?

Does anyone know what or where you find the final drive ratio. 1998 Mystique. No sport package, 14inch 185 tires, AUTO - ABS and option package 371 A. Mostly interior dress up stuff.

Thanks

For better mileage, just keep the revs down around town (below 3000 to 3500) and don't go extremely fast on the highway. I have gotten 30 mpg by going only 60 mph on the highway.

Welcome aboard! Glad to see new Zetec owners!
The best mileage Ive gotten out of my Zetec/MTX is 422 miles on 1 tank of gas. Usually averages around 370 with mixed driving. This is with the KKM and 16" rims.

Thanks--

i've been hovering around 30 lately, but i need a tune-up. things should improve in in a couple thousand miles when it is time to change the plugs and wires. i also think my loose timing belt is contributingto bad gas mileage. the car used to get 36MPG regularly when it was newer.

I hit 23 but I've been drag racing some V6 bretta's and hoping to race a sufire soon with my ATX. My car doesn't win alot but it can sure put up a fight mabe with a few mods that will change

Don't stomp on the accelerator all the time, get a KKM, perhaps some exhaust work, you'll increase the mpg, no problem.
