I'm having a hard time getting the little donut that goes on the y-pipe, ford doesn't seem to understand what it is. they have given me a 3 holed seal, then the same one except with 2 holes.
anyone know the part number?
lol Hell I dont understand what your saying either. I just put headers on myself, and I can't picture what your talking about,....is it in between the y and flex pipes?
I have a 97 so its different, i dont have flex pipe, and the flange only has 2 bolts.. not 3.
EDIT: here's a pic of the y-pipe. the donut goes over the lip on the pipe.
I have no idea what donut you're talking about either.
Mine broke when I transferred the stock one to the MSDS Y-pipe that I have. It cracked on one side and I have a SMALL exhaust leak on start-up
MTX,
None of the SVT guys here will know what the hell you are talking about. For some reason most non-SVT Duratecs with MTX use a 2-bolt flange with a spring loaded joint and aforementioned donut, instead of the 3 bolt with flex pipe arrangement.
I don't have the P/N for you, but I can dig through my receipts at home tonight and get it for you.
Bottom line, in Ford-ish speak, you need a donut that is specific to a non-SVT 2.5L manual trans.
Here's the part # if the "donut" you're talking about is the gasket between y-pipe and cat-pipe

I paid $12.21 at my local dealer. One thing though. This was a special order and apparently they come in 2's. The asshat made me buy two of them. I just brought the other one back a different day to a different guy and got my money back for it.
Munson: Not true. My 98 SVT E1 has a 2-bolt flange and the same gasket between Y-Pipe and Main cat flange.
thanks guys, Ford finally found it, "they were looking at the wrong diagram" ...
my 98eo had a two bolt flange with spring loaded bolts also but when i fitted up a 00svt exhaust it had three bolt with a flex-pipe,so i just replaced the y-pipe and all
