HELP! Dropping the engine & transaxle on a 1998 Ford Contour SVT. Front subframe bolts came out easily. Teh rear subframe bolts won't come out. The nut inside the frame is turning with the bolt. How can I get the bolt out? I can't access the nut since it is inside the frame! All I can think of is cutting the bolt head off. What other options exist?

You could do that then work on getting the remainder of the bolt out after the cradle is out. You will need to get to it from the inside. Or you can pull the engine out the top to avoid the headache. You can pull from the top by keeping the engine and tranny together. There actually is a good how to posted on the site.

Wow I never saw that thread. That would work pretty damn slick. I'm glad my subframe nuts stayed welded to the car, which made it that much easier to drop it.
