does removing a tierod warrant an alignment - 11/13/05 12:23 AM
so it seems theres no way to change the alt without removing the tierod. do u need an alignment afterwards? isnt the tierod used for toe? will the toe be off afterwards?

As long as you don't turn the tie-rod itself, your specs should remain the same, assuming that the part you replace is spec'd the same (same EXACT dimensions, etc...) In theory, the specs would be the same for every manufactured part, but variances do occur...

simply sliding the tie-rod end out of the hole will not adjust your specs.
Turning the end would adjust the overall length of the rod and throw them off.
You don't need to turn it to remove it. If you should HAPPEN to turn it, tape/chalk whichever thread its at beforehand, and also count how many full turns of the end you made. Then replace it at the same count, to ensure the same spec.
