from a 20km/h roll to around 100km/h, he had me by about 2 car length.
Even worse i have a CEL now and it wont go away.
i was raped by one when they first came out... tho I'm a civic compared to your car
for me acceleration =
finally the CEL is gone, I don't know what that was all about but i believe i'm running lean in high RPMs. i know i need a chip but i'm waiting a little longer before i put one in.
i don't think there is quite a difference in acceleration between our cars, maybe a car length at the most in 1/4mile and it can go either way. I have difficulties in taking off i can spin my tires all the way thru 1st and half way thru 2nd gear if i get too excited (shitti tires).
BTW 2 car length isn't bad considering winter roads and the WRX having 4WD.
Do you think an SVT could take one of those wrx? Also how do you stand against an SVT?
i dunno man he had my by at least 2 car length, we only went up to 100km/h and he was pulling like a M.F. I bet it would have been 3-4 car lengths in the 1/4 mile.
I duno about an SVT maybe we can find out this spring when the track opens
sounds good to me, I am yet to go to the track, but I pretty dam excited to do so. A race it will be. How much hp and tq do you think you are pushing?
i have no idea what i'm pushing, i bet pretty close to a stock SVT.
thats impressive, how much did you put into your car (if you don't mind me asking). Well I can't wait tell summer to see how you compare to my SVT
this is what i've done and how much (i copied it from the "how much money have you put into you contour" thread):
all my $$$ are in canadian dollars
Tint and Exhaust were on the car when i bought it.

wow that is a lot of money
just dont tell student loans and my parents.
i think i'm gona hate those loans i'm $33g's in the hole. But i'm done this spring, actually i'm taking my grad pics tomorrow. I guess the real modding starts this summer when i start working and bringing in the cash.
ohhh...i'm ONLY at $24,000 and will be done in dec. and yeah, that's when the modding will begin!
i guess we have to pay back the studen loans then too eh....that sucks!!
I've beaten a stock WRX in Florida on the interstate with my SVT. An SVT will not beat one from the start but at speed if it's a stock one like the one I saw it's possible.
Eric
Florida..
damn this nice weather
Yup, I'm up over $22,000 CDN too.....those turbo cars are
always going to beat you off the line....it's over 100 mph
when the Contour SVT will pull away...or so I've heard...
it was a race to speed limit (100km/h) so i dont know what kind of race it will be at higher speeds, especially when my car is governed at 112mph.
ive had my car up to an advertised 210 km/hr not much juice after that tho.... was damn fast tho
what about before the chip, i know my car still has lots of power to go when i hit the governer. maybe one day i will get a chip but i'm waiting until i finish modding the engine so i can get a custom one. then the question comes to my mind "what if i get the S/C?" the kit comes with a chip.
I know my car is in a desperate need for a chip i have to get rid of the governer and raise the rev limiter, and remap my fuel system. i'm running lean at high rpms and i think i'm running rich at low rpms too, or something is seriously wrong the way i'm idling now. i just did a tuneup this past summer and everything was fine until the weather cooled down.
