Im on number 6 now and probably the 7th will be going in this weekend. Front driver side bearing lasts at the most one year and sometimes up to 3-4 months, last one replaced this spring.
I've done wheel aligns; replaced the hub assembly, ball joints and half shaft and Im still throwing wheel bearings.
Im running out of patience and Im going to replace the spindle and hub.
From what Ive been told that the spindle is indestructible but its the only thing that I can think of that I havent replaced on the driver side of the car.
Another thing I noticed is abnormal wear on the driver side tire, the inside of the tire is wearing faster than the rest.
Any suggestions about what my problem could be
Bummer.... could be more expensive I guess but at the rate you're going I guess it's adding up pretty fast

Only things that come to mind are camber, toe-in or out and maybe loose steering parts on that side. Had an alignment check lately?

if you are getting tire wear after an alignment then they are not putting it to spec. May need a camber plate installed. Perhaps from worn out suspension - they get it as close as possibl (but out of spec). Camber plate should allow them to get it right to specs. Get the printout from the alignment shop and then let us know the numbers. Im sure the correct ones should be on the board here somewhere.
replaced spindle, hub, bearing, and got an alignment.
took it for a test drive and discovered that the front passener side wheel bearing is going too. it had no play in the tire when it was jacked up but makes a humming sound under hard left turns, too bad we couldn't hear it before we replaced the driver side bearing. now i have to wait till next weekend for the shop to get another wheel bearing and get me in again. small town mechanics don't carry parts for a car like mine plus i can only get my car in on saturdays.

well my wheel bearing count is at: 7 on LF, 1 on RR, and coming up 1 for RF. 9 bearing in 6 years i must have some kind of a record for that on this site.
Wrong wheel offset will create bearing problems.

So it's turn left and noise/grinding = right bearing and reverse for the left?
Yah I know but we couldn't hear the right bearing before, the left was really loud. On top of that I had no exhaust left underneath the car before we replaced the bearing. We only went off up/down wheel play and the history of the left front side.
The good thing is that front left has no more play after spindle/hub/bearing replacement, which usually is back within 2 weeks after repairs and the noise is back within couple of months. So i hope that the spindle was the problem and it is fixed now.

I've replaced 5 front bearings and 4 spindles. The spindles wear into an oval where the balljoint fits in. I even had one balljoint pull out of the spindle at low speed ( Thank God ). I fitted the last 2 bearings myself, with a press at work, to see if it was sloppy mechanics doing me in. You absolutely cannot press on the inner race when driving them into the spindle.
