So I had quite the impulsive day today...

Background:

I met this girl at Houghton lake 4 years ago at a place which was then called "shea's lodge" We really hit it off and quickly became friends, talked on the phone and aim occasionally, I really enjoyed my conversations with her, well a couple of times after that I saw her only briefly though, She lives in Detroit so its a little out of my way to spend time with her, plus our schedules are so conflicting work wise that it makes it difficult to make plans, I was supposed to go down and see her 3 weeks ago, but it got canceled when she developed a case of the stomach flu

So today, I had just finished mowing the lawn I had nothing to do, I was thinking of trying some new detailing products on the rolla' so I was about to head out the door to go to AutoZone and pick up a clay bar. When I decide to be the cool kid I am and open up my space. Where I see a bulletin from my friend that says "Houghton Lake" I thought to myself "she did say she was going back to the lodge sometime this summer..." I sat in my chair pondering about it for a few seconds, thinking about what some people had said to me recently in trying to have some fun. Next thing I know, my keys are turning the ignition to my car and I had a set of instructions to Houghton Lake. After about an hours travel time I was in the parking lot at the lodge her and I met 4 years in the past. I opened my door and sat there thinking to myself "holy [censored], I just drove an hour to meet a girl I havent seen in 3 years, at a place I dont even know she is for sure..."

I decide that since I had driven that far I mite as well follow through, I got out of my car... Walked towards the beach where I see her and her mom sitting and relaxing. I snuck up behind her and casually sit down right next to her... I then turn my head and say with a little grin in my face "its been a while"

She turns and looks at me, and it hits her who I was... She then gets extremely excited, I got a big hug So we ended up spending the whole day together, catching up... We went and got lunch, some ice cream, and went out on a jet ski... I was there for 7 hours just hanging out and talking. She then suggests that next weekend she comes up to midland to hang out... I reluctantly accept her offer. So I had an awesome day, I will have a picture to post of her and me sometime in the near future... Probably Thursday. The reason I post this is in spite of my more recent post about my current run in with some depression and feeling like I am in a "rut" so to speak. The inspiration of some of the things said to me here got me to get up and make something of my weekend. So I did, and I had a great time doing it. Thanks all for reading, and Im really excited about this girl. Especially since when i'm at school I will only be living a 20 minute drive away from her

Why reluctantly?? It sounds as if you dig this chick and had a really good time with her.

And by the way, VERRRRRRYYYYYY smooth just walking up and sitting down like that. Gutsy. I assume you had a fairly good idea how she'd react, but still, you just never know!

AHH, I used the wrong word... When I wrote the entry I was a little tired from traveling for 2 hours and being out and about all day... I ment to say " I enthusiastically accepted her offer"

Alias,

That is a good story. Congrats on doing something kind of risky and tough.

With my luck, I would have sat down and said Hello... And her boyfriend that plays in the NFL would have pounded me! haha

I know a little about depression. It is hard to get up and do something like that. But when you do, it helps.

Keep us updated. Good luck!

Last night I pulled up in my dorm parking lot... some girls and a little kid standing in the middle. Girl goes to grab her kid like I was gonna try to run him over.

When I parked and got out, the other girl just stared at me with a stupid look on her face. Kinda like one of those "oh wow" looks.

So I was like "Hi" in a weird deep tone and walked past her.

I think she was 15

She was "normal."

I'm sure she'll be hot in a few years, but I think she was one of those German girls that love an American in uniform, which I happened to be the only one around in one since it was Sunday night.

Actually, if you were 18 or under, she'd be fair game for you by German law. You might still be kosher up to 21. Of course, I believe even in Germany as a serviceman you'd still be held to US laws regarding this.

Well... uhh... I'm 22!

I guess I could add a cooler story on the end...

US personnel are prohibited from partaking in a prostitute's services... However, the regulations do not say that I am not allowed to traffic these prostitutes.

And I've read that a 14 year old girl can become a prostitute with parental consent... The prostitution law is pretty vauge, but can be interpreted that way.

...So I can pimp dat ho... just not allowed to have sex with her

But I think they are adding some things into the UCMJ about trafficing in persons that does not allow me to pimp hoes.

They have girls that sit along the B40 secondary road right off some American installations (one AF, one Army) in motorhomoes with red or bright white lights hanging from the mirror...
