I love surprising people :) - 08/07/06 02:46 AM
So I had quite the impulsive day today...
Background:
I met this girl at Houghton lake 4 years ago at a place which was then called "shea's lodge" We really hit it off and quickly became friends, talked on the phone and aim occasionally, I really enjoyed my conversations with her, well a couple of times after that I saw her only briefly though, She lives in Detroit so its a little out of my way to spend time with her, plus our schedules are so conflicting work wise that it makes it difficult to make plans, I was supposed to go down and see her 3 weeks ago, but it got canceled when she developed a case of the stomach flu
So today, I had just finished mowing the lawn I had nothing to do, I was thinking of trying some new detailing products on the rolla' so I was about to head out the door to go to AutoZone and pick up a clay bar. When I decide to be the cool kid I am and open up my space. Where I see a bulletin from my friend that says "Houghton Lake" I thought to myself "she did say she was going back to the lodge sometime this summer..." I sat in my chair pondering about it for a few seconds, thinking about what some people had said to me recently in trying to have some fun. Next thing I know, my keys are turning the ignition to my car and I had a set of instructions to Houghton Lake. After about an hours travel time I was in the parking lot at the lodge her and I met 4 years in the past. I opened my door and sat there thinking to myself "holy [censored], I just drove an hour to meet a girl I havent seen in 3 years, at a place I dont even know she is for sure..."
I decide that since I had driven that far I mite as well follow through, I got out of my car... Walked towards the beach where I see her and her mom sitting and relaxing. I snuck up behind her and casually sit down right next to her... I then turn my head and say with a little grin in my face "its been a while"
She turns and looks at me, and it hits her who I was... She then gets extremely excited, I got a big hug So we ended up spending the whole day together, catching up... We went and got lunch, some ice cream, and went out on a jet ski... I was there for 7 hours just hanging out and talking. She then suggests that next weekend she comes up to midland to hang out... I reluctantly accept her offer. So I had an awesome day, I will have a picture to post of her and me sometime in the near future... Probably Thursday. The reason I post this is in spite of my more recent post about my current run in with some depression and feeling like I am in a "rut" so to speak. The inspiration of some of the things said to me here got me to get up and make something of my weekend. So I did, and I had a great time doing it. Thanks all for reading, and Im really excited about this girl. Especially since when i'm at school I will only be living a 20 minute drive away from her
