I just asked my mom. Her company gets all sorts of donations, and sometimes even appliances come their way.

mom's response:

Quote:

Hey, Ken said his is on the blink...The oven works, but they don't know the temp when it's on...he said he can cook a chicken in it, but it takes longer to cook cuz they have no idea how high or low it's on...hehehe...Kim, I'm willing to bet Elky could figure it out, it's probably only a heating unit...maybe even dad would know...Anyway, he said he can have it if he wants....

(lol proof that my parents call him "Elky")
Ken was the minister at our wedding, also my mom's boss.

hrrmmm..
that would be cool if i could figure out whats wrong with it, because knowing the temp is imprtant.

and yes kims parents really do call me Elky.
i dont think i have ever heard them call me mike!

Get a cheap oven thermometer from Target. As long as it holds a temperature when it's on, you can put a mark on the dial for where you need it to powdercoat.

I rather regret not staying over that night.

We had so much food it didn't matter. I think I had 7 beers total and it didn't even affect me (but I wasn't going to drive either way). We need another meet like that it was fun.

i asked Jess' mum on wednesday...her grandmother just got a new oven last week!
but of course the people who brought the new one took the old one!

she used it everyday and you would never know, she had teh whole inside completly lined with foil, even the top!!
and she changed it every week!
it would have been perfect!

Elky, I got mine at the local goodwill type place. We actually have a Baptist Mission place that picks them up if you call them and I just went there and got one before they did anything to it. $50 and I was out the door. I've used it for the past few years coating and it works fine.
